Why this template#
The weekly status is the most-skipped agency deliverable and also the highest-trust-building one when it ships consistently. The point isn't substance — it's cadence. Every Friday at 9am, the artifact lands. That alone signals "this agency is running."
What makes it work#
Three deliberate constraints:
- One page. Hard cap. If it can't fit on one page, it's a different artifact (a monthly brief, a project recap). The weekly status earns its place by being scannable in 30 seconds.
- Auto-pulled from systems. Three of the four sections (hours, tickets, metrics) pull from connected sources. Only "next-week plan" is hand-written, and it's two sentences max.
- One-click approval. Auto-send on Fridays at 9am client-local, no formal approval required for trusted long-term clients. New engagements start with manual review and graduate to auto-send after 60 days.
What you'll customize#
- Hours-used display: progress bar, fraction, or just a number — depends on client preference
- Ticket filter: all tickets, or only client-visible work
- Metric selection: which 3-4 KPIs matter weekly (different from monthly KPIs)
- Send time: Friday 9am ET is the default; some clients prefer Monday morning instead
